Julie Brancamp - Veterinary Assistant/ReceptionistJulie is originally from upper Michigan. She has lived many places, but has been in Nashville for over 2 years now and loves it! Julie has bred and shown Mastiffs for 11 years. She has worked as a veterinary assistant in Michigan and Nashville prior to coming to McKay's Mill. Outside of work Julie enjoys spending time with her family and showing her dogs.
Sandra Jarrell - Receptionist/MomSandra is actually Dr. Merrell's mother! Sandra is originally from Florida and graduated from Stetson University with a degree in Accounting. Sandra worked for the Small Business Administration as a loan officer which is where she met her husband Russell Jarrell and moved to Nashville with him almost 40 years ago. Sandra's other interests include playing cards with her friends, ballroom dancing, and watching football. We are very lucky to have Sandra here and appreciate her "coming out of retirement" to help us out!
Sarah Flynn - GroomerSarah has been grooming for 13 years. She has lived in McKay's Mill for 6 years. She and her husband Jack have 3 children, a 16 year old daughter and 2 sons, 6 and 4. They have 2 dogs and a cat. Sarah grew up in Illinois and then moved to Arizona, Florida, and Georgia before settling here in Tennessee with her family. Sarah began grooming at Petsmart in Florida. She did not enjoy moving so often, but feels it did benefit her by giving her a lot of experience, knowledge, and techniques from the other groomers she met along the way. She credits them with much of her grooming success. She loves what she does and is looking forward to many more years in this profession!
Kimberley Merrell - VeterinarianDr. Merrell grew up in Brentwood, TN. She received her BS in Zoology from the University of Tennessee in 1995 and graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She practiced at Petmed in Antioch, TN for 8 years and did relief work at Little House Animal Hospital before coming to McKay's Mill. She and her husband Eric have 5 "kids" - Kuby (pictured), Tugger and GiGi (both rescued as kittens at Petmed), Walnut (a mini-lop rabbit), and Frank (a thoroughbred/quarterhorse). When they have spare time, she and Eric enjoy hiking, camping and traveling.
Amy graduated from Columbia State Community College in 2007. She has one dog, Suzi who is very spoiled and goes to work with her every day, and two cats, Tuna and Kiki. Amy’s favorite hobbies include traveling and seeing new places, watching baseball (especially the Braves), and shoe shopping!
LaLayna Sundeen, LVMTLalayna graduated from Columbia State Community College Magna Cum Laude in 2009. She is originally from Wisconsin, but has lived in Tennessee since 1988. It has been her lifelong dream to work with animals and we are excited to have her here as our full time licensed veterinary medical technician. LaLayna has 3 cats, a rabbit and a fish. She enjoys traveling and scuba diving with her husband.
Carrie McCorkle, ReceptionistCarrie has lived in TN for the past 7yrs and loves it. Originally from WV, she moved to Iowa, then GA and finally to TN. She grew up having many cats and has loved animals from a very young age. Carrie and boyfriend Jeremy share their home with Gizmo and Jack, their two cats. Carrie has worked as a receptionist for 2yrs, and says, "Getting to hold puppies and kittens everyday make any bad day worth it!" In her spare time, Carrie loves to play tennis and laugh with friends and family.
