Kimberley Merrell, DVM
Dr. Merrell grew up in Brentwood, TN. She received her BS in Zoology from the University of Tennessee in 1995 and graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Merrell practiced at Petmed in Antioch, TN for 8 years before opening McKay's Mill Animal Hospital in 2008. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Eric and her daughter Evie. She is pictured here with her cat Cheddar.
Heather Bowling, DVM
Dr. Bowling has lived in Franklin, TN for the past 17 years. She received her BS in Microbiology from Auburn University in 1996 and graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Bowling and her husband Andrew have three girls Kate, Abby, and Rachel. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, being outdoors, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers! She is pictured here with her dog Millie.
Glenis Moore, DVM
Dr. Moore grew up in Franklin, TN. She received her Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee in 2009. She graduated from UT Vet School in 2013. She shares a home with her husband Robbie, their two curious kitties Charlie and Hemi, and their new puppy, Elle. In her spare time Dr. Moore enjoys reading, cooking, baking, exercising, soccer, and horseback riding.
Beth Chapman, DVM
Dr. Chapman has been with us since October 2017. She grew up in Brentwood, TN. She received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2004 while playing collegiate soccer for the Cyclones. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Chapman shares a home with her husband and their menagerie of animals, including dogs and cats. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being active and outdoors, attending sporting events, and traveling. She is pictured here with her dogs, Mica and Archer.
Andree Girone, Office Manager
Andree and her husband Dr. Mark Girone have been mentors to Dr. Merrell since she graduated from vet school and began working for them in 2000. They have two wonderful daughters Kate and Kelsey who have both worked at McKay's Mill Animal Hospital. Outside of work, Andree enjoys spending time with her family and cheering for the Tennessee Vols! She is pictured here with our sweet patient Margot.
Eric Merrell, Client Services
Eric's background is in economics. Since opening McKay's Mill Animal Hospital he has taken on a variety of roles. He has been with us since 2011 and does a little bit of everything around here! Often you will see him at the front desk these days. He is pictured here with the Merrell's cat Cheddar.
Devany Lister Aley, Practice Manager
Devany grew up in Orange County, California and moved to middle Tennessee in 2019 when she started here at McKay's Mill Animal Hospital. She received a full ride scholarship to the University of California system and attended UCLA considering a juris doctorate before switching to veterinary technology, earning her Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2013 through Banfield's Registered Veterinary Technician Academy at Western University. She managed several veterinary hospitals in Southern California as well as teaching pharmacology, parasitology, and clinical pathology for veterinary technicians at several universities in Los Angeles county. Outside of work, Devany enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading.
Danielle Davenport, Veterinary Assistant
Danielle has been with us since June 2015. She graduated from the Minnesota School of Business with a veterinary technology degree. Since a very young age Danielle has always known she wanted to work with animals and take care of them. A little bit about her is she has Cystic Fibrosis and loves educating and bringing awareness to others about her condition. She enjoys hanging out with her horse, playing with her dogs, relaxing out on the lake, and spending time with her family and friends! Danielle is pictured here with our sweet patient, Koda!
Kimberly Platt, LVMT
Kimberly, one of our licensed medical veterinary technicians, joined our team in 2019 after relocating to Franklin from South Carolina. She earned her veterinary technology degree in 2018 from Piedmont Technical College. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her fiance and training her Boston terrier puppy, Oliver!
Gaby Blanco, Veterinary Assistant
With her father in the military, Gaby grew up all over the world before moving to Tennessee and starting here at McKay's Mill Animal Hospital in 2020. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Florida State University in 2013 and brings with her an extensive background in anesthesia and emergency critical care veterinary medicine. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her partner Shelby: hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and running, as well as spending time with her two dogs and two cats.
Lauren Presley, Veterinary Assistant
Lauren grew up in Texas surrounded by dogs and horses, and always knew she wanted to work with animals! Her hobbies include working out and binge-watching TV shows with her dog and fiance. She moved to the Nashville area in 2013 to pursue music and started working at McKay’s Mill Animal Hospital in 2019. Lauren enjoys working hands-on with our patients and getting to know their unique personalities and needs. Lauren helps with the reception desk as well as an assistant in the back with the doctors.
Sarah Zak, Veterinary Assistant
Sarah, a lifelong Tennessee native, started at McKay's Mill Animal Hospital in 2020 after working for many years in the Columbia area. She graduated with her veterinary technology degree from Columbia State Community College in 2009. When she's not cuddling our patients, she enjoys spending time in her backyard relaxing with her kids and watching them play sports.
Kelly Jennings, LVMT
Kelly, one of our licensed medical veterinary technicians, joined our team in 2020 after relocating to middle Tennessee from Southern California to be closer to family. She earned her Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2015 from Veterinary Allied Staff Education after working for many years in AAHA-accredited hospitals in California. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children: hiking, watching her kids play sports, and getting outdoors.
Emily Bates, Veterinary Assistant
Emily, a lifelong southern country girl who moved here from Georgia when she was two years old, joined our team in 2021 after many years in emergency veterinary medicine. She brings this expertise to our team after attending veterinary assistant classes at Middle Tennessee Veterinary Assistants school. Outside of the hospital, Emily works on her cattle farm and enjoys fishing and riding horses.
Marci Collins, Veterinary Assistant
Marci is a lifelong Tennessee native who graduated from Columbia State Community College with her veterinary technology degree in 2018 and is currently studying to take her exam for her Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician certification. She joined our team in 2021 with previous experience in shelter medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, reading, and recently has discovered a love of refurbishing furniture.
Megan Dusenberry, Client Services
Megan moved to Tennessee from Mississippi as a young girl, a born and bred southern girl! She started at McKay's Mill Animal Hospital in 2021 with a background in hospitality which she uses to make every patient and client feel welcome. When she's not getting to know our adorable patients, outside of work she enjoys photography, disc golf and playing with her son.
Virgina Hunter, Groomer
Virginia grew up in Mississippi but Nashville has been home for a long time. When looking for a change of career Virginia wanted to do something that incorporated her love of animals. For several years Virginia has been grooming in the Nashville area and has built up a loyal client base, she is excited about meeting MMAH client. She will be available at drop off to meet you and talk about your specific grooming needs for your pet. In her spare time Virginia works with local rescue groups to give baths and grooms to there dogs ready for their new homes. She is pictured here with Dak and Neko.
